Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Yep- festive nuts at Stanley Park, and on most
street corners, really tasty!
Jack Frost nipping at your nose
Tis getting cold, but still wet not snowy
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
Have heard some singers, but the W 10th association
of shops is planning to hire singers all dressed to
suit in the run up...
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Well lots of Santas, Miss Santa and elves actually.
The eskimos are probably eskimos so i'm gonna be PC
and not say they've got fancy dress costume on!

Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
mmmmm, but I think the Christmas meal will probably
be a yummy roast Chicken
Help to make the season bright
There are enough lights for that!
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Oh yeah, and me too it's too exciting!
Will find it hard to sleep tonight

They know that Santa's on his way
He is, in fact i'm sure I saw him the other night..
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is gonna spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
OF COURSE THEY CAN!!!!

And so I'm offering this simple phrase
For kids from one to ninety two
Although its been said many times many ways
Merry Christmas to you

MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL!!!

Before decorating the tree, just had to have a mess around with my pre christmas toy- my mean green scoring machine, i still need to name him. I was thinking maybe Bert, any suggestions?

Final stop of the day of festive activities was the 'Bright Lights of Stanley Park'. A display of over a million lights organised by the firefighters of Vancouver to raise money for charity and various firefighter foundations. It was all very twinkly!

Sess and I at the Hyatt enjoying decorating our own Gingerbread men. For a 2$ donation to unicef, we recieved a kit including a naked gingerbread man, 3 colours of tubed cake icing and a bag of M&Ms. Not all of the M&Ms made it to the little dudes thanks to a short journey, destination our mouths!! mmmm!

The finished articles.

The lobby in the Four Seasons hotel, the venue for a charity christmas tree decorating competition, stop number one on the christmas festivity activity day (sunday), try saying that in a hurry!

My fave out of the christmas tree entries, although I did like the traditional ones, and the ginderbread man entries. But the use of hockey tape for tinsel, player pics, ickle hockey pads and pucks as ornaments was super fun. The message at the top reads like wha tis on most peoples mind over here, mine included; "All we want for Chistmas is hockey back!" The lockout is all over the news, front page everywhere as expected, but the situation doesn't look good listening to all the news :o( .

The lamp-post banner around W 10th avenue. Each section or suburb has their induvidual one, it's a nice touch. I like the one by GM Place, it's adorned with Canucks players.

So the snows are here.... well on the ski hills at least, it's kinda useful to have it up there. I believe at the moment there is a base of 120cm of snow at the foot of the piste. Note to self; get up there soon!

It's confusing as to which mountain is which because I haven't consulted a map, so i'm constantly trying to figure it out in relation to downtaon and the view from the top of Grouse. So this may be Cypress or one of the other ones, the name escapes me at the moment, but you can clearly see the ski runs in the day, and at night when lit by floodlight also.

Grouse Mountain and Cypress Mountain ski resorts over yonder.

The beautifully dressed Christmas tree called Barney! The boxes around the bottom i got from AE, and hopefully will be getting some more surlplus window dressing boxes tonight....
